Searching For Preschools and Kindergarten Info

I am looking for preschools nearby for the fall for our Jane. Do any of you know of a school someone is doing out of their home that would be around $100/month or cheaper?
Or are there any good programs around here that would be that cheap?
Jane will be 5 in October, and this will be her 3rd year in preschool so we are ideally looking for something that will be able to challenge her a little more, but price is also a concern for us.

Also, I've been trying to find out if the Utah school district will do early entrance Kindergarten exams. Does anyone know about that?

Thanks,
Heather Church

Go Check Out The Mountain Goats!

We saw 9 wild mountain goats on the cliff at the entrance to Little Cottonwood Canyon today. You park up on the ski parking and look South. Bring binoculars. More will be coming but they will only be there a week or so. Maybe the moms would like to know.

Ward Temple Trip Saturday 9am, April 21st

(I'd like to) remind everyone about the Draper Temple Session this Saturday the 21st.  Be there at 9:00a.m. for the 9:15 session. It is in conjunction with Stk. Conference this Sat. and Sun.  Lets fill up the session.   Wed. we had a similar session at 9:15 for a ward and only one man showed up.   We need men and women.  Thanks to all who can attend.

Sunday Lesson, April 15th

I know you are all excited to hear that I'll be teaching Relief Society this week! Carolyn Ownby is a tough act to follow, however, I will try my best!

Please remember to bring your TEACHINGS OF PRESIDENTS OF THE CHURCH: GEORGE ALBERT SMITH manual so I can bug you all to read and follow along with me.

Also, try to read Chapter 8: Temple Blessings for Ourselves and Our Ancestors, and bring your thoughts with you so we can have a great and uplifting discussion in class!

I'll see you all on Sunday. Have a great weekend.

Needed: A Ride to St George This Weekend

My husband Dave is now working in Las Vegas.  My son Jordan is hoping to go visit him next weekend. We are wondering if anyone is going down to St George on Thursday and coming back up to Salt Lake on Sunday, April 1st.  My other son Todd is in St George and could drive him to LV.  Don't know if it will work out, but thought we would ask.

 Thanks,

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, dance fitness classes are held at the church building at 9:00am. They are really fun! Bring your little ones, as they can play in the overflow area while you workout.

Service Opportunity: Donate Clothes, Toys, Books

This isn't ward-related, but it has become our family's service project...

Jeff has friends in Indiana whose home was totally destroyed in the recent tornado. They were across the street from the HS that was demolished. The family is staying at our friend Janie's rental home, but they lost about everything. We think their home is being bulldozed this week after groups of SWAT team members and other state troopers helped them comb through the rubble. All recovered clothes cannot be worn as the insulation and such was driven into the fibers, and from what we were told it just doesn't wash out totally.

The husband, an Indiana State Trooper, had gotten off his shift and had been recalled due to the approaching weather so he was getting ready to go to work again. He finally headed to the basement and got two steps down when the tornado hit. He ended up pinned between a tree and some A/C unit, looking up when he came to and seeing only parts of the flooring left. His wife, Liz, was at school, teaching, and their 2yr old son, Lucas, was at daycare. Neither of them were injured. He suffered some shoulder injuries and other cuts and scrapes, and his patrol car was found in someone's basement, as the note on the photo indicates.

We are gathering gently-used clothes for the mom and son, as well as toys and books, and we are shipping everything to our friend Janie so she can tidy up the items after shipment and give to this family. Liz (the mom) wears size 4 and medium shirts, and size 8 shoes. Lucas (the toddler) is in 2 and 3T and size 6-7 shoes. Apparently the dad is being taken care of as far as clothing. He wears uniforms and our friends are giving him some guy things.

Please feel free to drop off donations at our home, or call or email me
 (izackslolly@yahoo.com) to arrange a pick-up.

Thanks so much,

Candy

This is our friend Liz trying to find what she can in the debris of their home after the tornado.  Her husband’s patrol car ended up in someone’s basement.

Needed: Somewhere to Study

Many of you know my husband Scott is currently working (with an ever closer deadline) on his dissertation. It is a HUGE paper that requires a lot of time and focus.

Does anyone either have a space or know of one where he could work during the days on his paper? He would need a quiet room where he would not be bothered by anyone or any noise, with access to the internet, preferably via wifi. Also, bathroom access would be nice. :)

We could potentially pay a small amount for this space.

A room in a quiet house, a room in an empty basement apartment, an empty office space, etc. Anything like that would be perfect.

If you know of something, please leave a comment below, email this blog email, my email or call me.

Thanks!
